Stephanie Morton, a missing juvenile for whom an Amber Alert has been issued in Stanly County

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A student who was taken up by a male on Thursday at a high school is being sought after by the police.

On Thursday, Stephanie Michele Mortonon was the focus of an Amber Alert. Morton reportedly left South Stanly High School on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in a red vehicle, according to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office.

According to authorities, Morton and 30-year-old Duane Howard Bartlett left the school together.

Morton is described as a Caucasian woman who stands approximately five feet four inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. She has red hair and blue eyes, according to officials. According to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, Morton is 15 years old. In the Amber Alert, Morton’s age was given as 16.

A white male is described as Bartlett. There was no more information provided about him.
