Sandusky Police Department released a statement on Saturday, May 20, 2023, on the Cedar Point Shooting case;
Officers were dispatched to Cedar Point Commons, 2075 First St., for a call of shots fired. There were several calls on this matter with callers being from the EVC parking lot and within Cedar Point housing.
Officer Dye and myself checked the interior of Commons on foot while Ofc. Parsons checked the dead end of Second St. and Third Street. The callers believed the shots could have been coming from behind the ARC building (Associates building). While on scene, Ofc. Parsons and Ofc.
Dye advised they heard more shots in succession with each other that appeared to have been coming from the Cleveland Rd. area, south from Cedar Point Commons. The area was checked and citizens were asked if they had heard the shots, but officers were not able to gather anymore useful information.
