Knuth had an uncommon skin condition that resulted in excruciating blisters. Knuth had a lymphoma diagnosis in 2019. The neighborhood came together to support the youngster and his family in the hopes that he would be able to overcome his health issues. It was never intended to be.
The evening of May 26, 2023, his mother Trisha Knuth wrote a notice on Facebook confirming her son’s demise: “Charlie’s furious heat beat for the last time tonight at 5:19 p.m. We left the hospital without him for the first time. He passed away in our arms without any suffering. We are broken and in pain.
In 2020, race car racers contributed more than $60,000 to Knuth’s family so he could have cancer treatment.
The post read, “The Knuth family is so grateful for the tremendous support! You all are rockstars!”
Charlie was born with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, which is also known as EB. It’s a painful disease that causes his skin to blister.
