A 22-year-old woman was killed in an accident on Saturday night in Johnson County, which is in eastern Iowa. According to the Iowa State Patrol, two vehicles, both operated by 17-year-olds from Iowa City and going west on Court Street in Iowa City in 2008 Saturn Vues driven by Keasean Ford and Elijah Seals and 2012 GMC Acadias, failed to stop at the intersection of S. 7th Avenue.
In the junction, a 2017 Chevy Malibu was hit. Waterloo resident Jennifer Russell was the driver. Russell, who was wearing her seat belt, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals (UIHC) in Iowa City.
Both drivers, as well as 17-year-old Iowa City resident Michel Mbokolo, a passenger in one of the cars, were hurt and taken by Johnson County Ambulance to the UIHC. On Saturday at about 10:54 p.m., the accident occurred. The Johnson County Ambulance, Iowa City Fire, and Police departments, as well as the Patrol, provided assistance at the incident.
