A longtime Westland business owner and the owner of Mangia Pizza and Catering Frank Chimento passed away in a fatal motorcycle accident on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Frank was a longtime resident of Westland, Michigan. He died surrounded by his family and loved ones. Frank was survived by his beautiful wife Laura Chimento. However, the circumstance behind the accident is not known.
Helen Bryant a digital creator on Facebook announced the passing of Frank on Tuesday, May 30. Helen wrote, “Sending Prayer to Frank Chimento and the Chimento family. God has work to do. Keep Believing. Laura Chimento if you need anything Please inbox me. Much Love.”
Mangia Pizza and Catering have been a longtime business here in Westland owned by Frank and his family.
Councilman Mike McDermott released a statement following the passing of Frank Chimento on the giant social media Facebook. Councilman Mike wrote;
I am shocked and sadden to receive the news today that a longtime Westland business owner, the owner of Mangia Pizza and Catering Frank Chimento, passed away over the weekend. I don’t have any details on his passing nor if there will be a public viewing or service. I wish to respect his family’s privacy at this time.
Mangia Pizza and Catering has been a longtime business here in Westland owned by Frank and his family. It was a place I would frequently visit to pickup a pizza or calzone because they have one my favorites in Westland. Frank always made it a point to come out from the kitchen or around the counter and catch up with me. I was always very appreciative of not only his family’s small business but of the fact that he hosted and catered several events for me.
RIP to Frank Chimento. My thoughts go out to his family at this time. You’ll surely be missed by me and many others here in our community.
Frank Chimento was born in Dearborn, Michigan, he attended Fordson High School. Frank was a longtime Westland business owner, the owner of Mangia Pizza and Catering. He was a lifelong resident of Westland, Michigan.
The funeral arrangement is pending.
