It is with a heavy heart that we have to make this post. Our community suffered a great loss over the weekend with the death of Silk City Fit member, Leah Smith. Leah was a regular in the gym, topping our committed club monthly, and her absence will surely be felt. Beyond being a great athlete, Leah was an amazing person, nurse, and wife to fellow member, James. We’re keeping the Smith family in our thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
Services are going to be held on Saturday, June 3rd 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home (219 W Center St, Manchester, CT 06040). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd 2023 at 4:30 PM at the same location.

She was even named “Rookie of the Year” in her department. She was an outstanding athlete and found a love for Crossfit and was a “powerhouse” with her tough mudder competitions.
