Richard Mairone Obituary, Long time UNICO member unexpectedly died, Funeral Plan

Mairone, Richard S. “Rick”, – 54, of Linwood, passed away unexpectedly on May 25th, 2023. Born October 20th, 1968 in Atlantic City, Rick was a lifelong resident of Atlantic County. He was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School, Villanova University School of Business, and Wake Forest University School of Law. Additionally, Rick earned a Master of Laws (Taxation) from Villanova University School of Law.

He was a member of The Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees, served as a trustee for AtlantiCare and the UNICO Scholarship Foundation, as well as involved in numerous other civic and community activities. Rick served a four-year term on the New Jersey Supreme Court District 1 Ethics Committee. Rick also received the Benjamin A. Rimm Award as Atlantic County’s young lawyer of the Year in recognition of his professionalism and community involvement.

Rick enjoyed coaching and watching his children play basketball, never missing a game. As an avid Villanova basketball fan, he attended as many games as possible. In his free time, he loved playing golf with his friends, taking his dog Nash for walks, and attending concerts. Rick was a friend to all. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he met. Rick made an unforgettable impact on the lives of others. He will be forever missed by his friends and family.

A loving father, son, brother, and uncle, Rick is predeceased by his father Robert V., and his step-father Mike. He is survived by his children, John and Claudia; his brother Robert A. and sister-in-law Jodie; his step-brothers Michael and Doug; his mother Angela; his nephews, Bobby, Nicholas, and Sam; and his step-nephews Michael J. and Finley.

Friends and family are invited to visit from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, on Friday, June 2nd at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Ave, Linwood, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
