Jared McLean was identified as the person who died after being involved in a serious motorcycle accident on his way home from the Jersey Shore on Monday, June 5, 2023. Jared was found unresponsive at the scene of the accident and was life-flighted to the nearest trauma center.
A report said Jared McLean has been on a ventilator and in a coma since arriving at the hospital. He has several facial and skull fractures and his recent MRI shows severe and fatal brain damage.
Sarah Schaffer, Jared’s sister announced his death on her Facebook account on Sunday. Sarah released the following statement following her brother’s death, “Several of you have reached out about ways to help our family (in addition to the love and prayers). Because of this, we created a GoFundMe account for Jared to help our family with his medical expenses and the travel expenses from being away from home. Please do not feel obligated to contribute, but know that this option is available if you want to. Thank you so very much for all of your continued support and love as we navigate this hardship.”

A GoFundMe page was created for Jared McLean Recovery Fund on Sunday following the tragic incident. The fundraiser was organized by Jared’s sister Sarah Schaffer with a donation target of $10,000. However, $4,502 has been donated at this time.
Sarah released the following statement on the fundraiser page;
We have set up this fundraiser for my brother, Jared McLean. Many of you know the story already, but for those of you that don’t, allow me to share it with you:On his way home from the Jersey Shore on Monday, 5/29, our youngest brother, Jared, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. He was found unresponsive at the scene of the accident and was life-flighted to the nearest trauma center. He has been on a ventilator and in a coma since arriving at the hospital. Jared has several facial and skull fractures and his recent MRI shows severe and fatal brain damage. As a family, we have been fortunate enough to adjust our schedules to have at least one of us at his bedside this entire time.Several people in our lives have asked how to best help and support our family during this difficult time – in addition to the well wishes, positive vibes, good thoughts, and prayers. Since Jared is at a hospital so far from home, we have set up this page for any monetary gifts that people may want to contribute to assist with food, gas, lodging and medical expenses.We are so grateful to everyone for sharing and for being so supportive of our family as we have gathered to be with Jared wherever this road takes him. Thank you.
