Kara was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, born December 11, 2003.  She was a 2022 honors graduate of Barbe High School and studied at McNeese State University where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.  She was currently working as a server at the pools of L ‘Auberge Casino Resort and was planning to apply to Cosmetology school with ambitions of owning her own salon.

She always liked to dress up: hair, nails, all things “girly” and found joy in making up her younger sisters so that they felt special too.  Kara took great pride in being a big sister and being a 2nd mom to her younger siblings.  She also enjoyed gymnastics, dance and loved swimming and sunshine.  Kara loved life!  She was a bright, happy spirit with a welcoming heart and a beautiful smile.  She will be dearly missed.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.  Father Paul Jussen will officiate.  Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation Wednesday will begin with a rosary service at 10:00 AM and will continue until 1:45 PM in the funeral home.
