Authorities claimed a guy suffered serious injuries after a crash at a drag racing event that was allegedly brought on by a car failure. On June 10, at around 5:35 p.m., Milan Area Fire Department personnel and police officers responded to a collision at the Milan Dragway race track in western Monroe County.
According to Milan Fire Lt. Kevin Maury, the collision happened when a car taking part in an event at the race track unexpectedly reversed and struck a pedestrian. According to Maury, the crash might have been caused by a mechanical problem that is currently being looked into.
According to Maury, the individual who was struck received treatment on the spot before being rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The Detroit Dragway Reunion event was taking place when the crash happened. At this time, it is unknown if the accident affected any other individuals.
According to Maury, Milan Fire crews promptly arrived to the mishap since they had been waiting in readiness for the incident. Both the Monroe Community Ambulance and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the event.
As of Saturday evening, authorities said Monroe County deputies were still conducting an investigation. The crash is currently under investigation.
